About
As the Director of Bilingual/Multicultural Communications and Marketing, I help create in-language content on UIC research, grants, news and projects for multicultural stakeholders and the media. I also manage several branding programs, including the UIC Campus Film Office, which oversees all television and movie productions on campus; the UIC Licensing Program, which licenses the university brand to third parties; and the UIC Banner Program, which manages all banner placements on campus.
My background includes experience in corporate, government, educational, and not-for-profit environments with career experiences as Director of Public Affairs at Jewel-Osco and Cub Foods, Director of External Affairs at Ameritech, SBC, and AT&T, Assistant Press Secretary to Mayor Richard M. Daley, and Managing Editor of Extra Bilingual Newspapers.
I earned two B.S. degrees from SIU-C, an MBA from Northwestern University, Kellogg School of Management, and a certificate on Corporate Community Relations from Boston College, Carroll School of Management. I am a 2012 fellow with Leadership Greater Chicago (LGC).
Service to Community
I currently serve on the Concept School’s “Future Institute” board of directors with past involvement at Casa Central (social service agency), a trustee at St. Augustine College (educational institute), Proviso Leyden Council for Community Action, Inc. (social service) and served on the Rauner Family YMCA board of directors (health and fitness agency).
