About
As associate director and research editor in the Office of Public and Government Affairs, I research and write about business, economics and the health sciences. In addition, I cover Athletics with a focus on men’s and women’s basketball. I joined UIC as an editorial associate in 1998. I covered education, urban planning and labor relations. I came to UIC from the Chicago Tribune, where I was a freelance writer in the Southwest Bureau. Prior to the Tribune, I worked at Harvard Oaks as a senior writer. I have also worked at IBM, Digital Equipment Corporation and Foote, Cone & Belding Advertising.
I am a recipient of a CASE District V Gold Award for video production and news coverage of UIC Engage, which detailed diversity and community relations at UIC. I received my B.S. from the School of Communication and M.S.J. from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University.
