Christy Levy

As associate editor for campus communications, my duties include editing and writing stories published on the UIC today (today.uic.edu); creating and distributing the weekly UIC today email newsletter; managing the UIC and UIC News social media properties; serving as the editor of UIC News, which publishes a back-to-school print issue in August and special editions for December and May commencements; and managing the PGA student intern program.

Before joining UIC in 2007, I was copy editor and page designer for the Northwest Herald and a reporter for 11 community newspapers in Lake County. I was a Dow Jones Newspaper Fund intern at the Erie-Times News in Pennsylvania and a copy-editing intern at the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel in Wisconsin.

I received my bachelor's in journalism from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
